Our first ENISE: 20 editions, 20 years of INCIBE and León alongside Bitnaga

Our first ENISE: 20 editions, 20 years of INCIBE and León alongside Bitnaga

This week, from 21 to 23 October, we attended ENISE for the first time: the International Information Security Meeting organised by INCIBE, Spain's National Cybersecurity Institute, at the Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones in León.

And it wasn't just any edition: it was the twentieth, the year INCIBE turns 20. Hard to pick a better moment for a debut.

Where Spanish cybersecurity meets

ENISE has become the reference event for the sector in Spain. The previous edition alone brought together more than 5,000 attendees, over 400 companies and institutions in the exhibition area and more than 300 speakers, plus international delegations, an entrepreneurship area, an innovation space, workshops and investor forums.

But what really makes it special is something else: it's one of the few places where vendors, integrators, government, researchers and startups share the same corridor. In a sector as fragmented as ours, that's worth a lot.

Why we had to be there

Cybersecurity is at the heart of what we do. We deliver audits, pentesting and managed security, we run our own infrastructure with ENS (Medium) and ISO 27001 certification, and we've worked with INCIBE itself on cybersecurity training for state security forces and as a technology provider on funded projects.

Being in León was, above all, a way to put faces to the ecosystem we work with every day: hearing where the sector is heading, catching up with clients and partners, and meeting new people between talks, stands and corridor conversations.

In León, with Bitnaga

We shared our first ENISE with the team at Bitnaga, a Málaga-based cybersecurity company with an AI-native approach: agentic SOC, continuous pentesting, CISO as a Service and sovereign generative AI.

We share AI research and development lines with them and, above all, a way of understanding technology. They put it on LinkedIn better than we could:

Twenty editions of ENISE, twenty years of INCIBE. León is still the place where Spain's cybersecurity ecosystem looks itself in the eye and decides to do things together. In a sector as fragmented as ours, that's priceless. With AP Interactive Solutions we don't have a simple relationship between partner companies. We share AI R&D lines and the same way of understanding technology: real control over what you build. And above all, people you enjoy getting things wrong and right with. I've said it before: I do want to work with friends.

"Real control over what you build" is probably the line that best defines both of us. It's why we run sovereign AI on our own infrastructure instead of depending on third parties, and why we get on so well with teams like theirs.

Thank you, Bitnaga. We want to work with friends too.

What we're taking home

We're back from León with a full notebook, plenty of conversations to follow up on in the coming weeks, and one clear idea: Spain's cybersecurity ecosystem works better when its companies collaborate instead of eyeing each other warily.

Thank you to INCIBE for the organisation and for these twenty years. See you at the next edition.

Were you in León and we didn't get the chance to meet? Drop us a line and let's pick up the conversation.

Does it resonate? Let's talk.
