ABACUS CONSULTING
Abacus did not want yet another hosting provider. They wanted an external technology department that would build the infrastructure for each project and tell them, with real judgement, what hardware and architecture they needed. That is what we are for them.
The challenge
Abacus Consulting runs several projects in parallel, and each one needs dedicated servers with different compute, storage and network requirements. Their hardware used to be hosted outside Spain, which brought extra cost, latency to their users, slow support and questions about where their data ended up.
They needed three things at once: dedicated hardware inside Spain, at a better price, and someone to guide the technical decisions of each project rather than just renting out machines.
The solution
We brought the whole infrastructure home and became their go-to technical team.
- Dedicated servers in Spain: own hardware on our AS215691 network in Madrid, with better performance and a better price than their previous provider, and direct control over the metal with no virtualisation layer.
- CIO as a Service: we prepare the specific infrastructure for each project, choose the right hardware and provide ongoing technology consulting, like an in-house CTO would, but without that fixed cost.
- Own AI servers: we supply dedicated GPUs on our infrastructure so they run their AI workloads in Spain, without paying US hyperscalers or taking their data out of the country.
- A single point of contact: hardware, network and advice come from the same team, so they scale directly with the people who build and operate the infrastructure.
Results
- Dedicated servers inside Spain, with better hardware and a better price than their previous hosting.
- Lower latency to their users and data sovereignty: everything within the country.
- CIO as a Service: per-project infrastructure ready to go and guided technical decisions.
- AI workloads on our own GPUs, with no reliance on US providers and no data exposed abroad.
- Capacity that grows with their project portfolio, not against it.
